Privela
Privacy compliance
Where does each business unit stand on the GDPR?
Privela follows up GDPR compliance in every business unit and legal entity. Each unit is assessed against questions that follow the structure of the regulation, every gap gets an action with a responsible role and a due date, and one overview shows all units side by side.

How it works
Four steps from questions to decision
- 1
Add the business unit
Legal entity, country and the functions responsible for data protection.
- 2
Set the role
Controller, processor or joint controller, and whether special category data, consent, automated decisions or transfers are involved. This decides which questions apply.
- 3
Assess and act
Questions per area of the GDPR. Each gap gets an action with a responsible role and a due date.
- 4
Sign off and follow up
The business unit signs off its assessment. The overview shows all units side by side, so progress can be followed over time.
What it covers
61 questions, shown only where they apply
Which areas are shown depends on the role of the business unit.
| Area | Scope | Questions |
|---|---|---|
| Accountability and governance | Organisation, documentation and follow-up | 8 |
| Lawful processing | When the unit is controller | 17 |
| Transparency and rights | Information and requests from the people concerned | 11 |
| Processing on behalf of others | For customers or other group companies | 12 |
| International transfers | Transfers and access from outside the EU/EEA | 5 |
| Security and breaches | Security of processing and personal data breaches | 8 |
Good to know
Before you start
No personal data needed
No personal data is needed for Privela to work. Responsibilities are recorded as functions and roles, not names. Each assessment can be exported to keep a copy or to share it with colleagues.
What the results mean
Privela supports the assessment and shows where each requirement comes from. It is not legal advice: the decision, and the responsibility for compliance, stay with the organisation.

Privela includes two fictional business units with different roles and completed assessments. Choose "Open example" in the tool to see how it works before you add your own units.
